The short answer
Hey, I'm Emma! One of the questions I get asked most is "how much is microblading?" So here it is, nice and simple: at my studio in Surbiton, Surrey microblading is £400, and that includes your retouch 4–12 weeks later. Same price for combo, nano and powder brows too. No surprise top-up fee, and your consultation is free.
I mention the retouch because not everyone prices it this way. Some studios quote just the first appointment and charge for the retouch separately, so the first number you see isn't always the whole story
Before and after: soft, natural hair strokes
Why I always include your retouch
Think of your first appointment as creating your brows, and the retouch as perfecting them. Microblading happens in two stages, because your skin needs time to heal before we can see the real result.
Here's roughly what happens in between:
Day 1: your brows look sharper and about 20–30% darker than the colour we chose. Totally normal!
Days 3–5: the colour starts to soften, and you might get a few small flakes (please don't pick them).
Days 10–14: they can look lighter for a little while, then the colour comes back through.
Weeks 4–12: time for your retouch.
About 6 weeks after your retouch: your final, fully healed brows, which usually last 1–2 years.
As your skin heals, some areas don't always hold the pigment as well as others. Everyone heals differently, so a few lighter patches are completely normal.
That's where the retouch really matters. When you come back, I look at how your brows have healed with fresh, experienced eyes. With a makeup artist's eye for faces, I often spot little things you might not notice yourself: a stroke that's healed a touch lighter, a tiny difference between the two brows, or a spot where the shape could be refined. It's usually a 15–60 minute appointment where I add more pigment where it's needed and fine-tune everything, so you leave with brows that are even, balanced and finished.
That's why I'd never want you to skip it, and why it's included in your price. Just book it within 4–12 weeks of your first appointment; after that, a charge applies.
Brows designed by a makeup artist
Emma in the studio, with 15+ years in beauty and makeup
Before I ever picked up a microblading tool, I was a makeup artist. I trained at the London College of Fashion and I still do bridal and occasion makeup and makeup lessons today. That background shapes every set of brows I create.
As a makeup artist, you spend years looking at faces: how brows frame the eyes, how a slightly higher arch can lift your whole look, and which shades work with your skin tone and hair colour. So when we design your brows together, I'm not just following a template. I'm looking at your face, your features and the look you love, and creating a shape and colour that suits you, whether that's soft and barely-there or a bit more defined.
It's the same eye I bring to your retouch: checking the balance, the shape and the colour, so your brows don't just look done, they look like yours.
Comparing prices? Ask these questions
Prices do vary from studio to studio, so it really helps to compare like with like. Wherever you're looking, I'd ask:
Is the retouch included? If not, how much is it, and when do you need to book it by?
Is the consultation free, and is a patch test included?
Who's actually doing your brows, and what training and experience do they have?
Is the studio licensed and insured?
A lower first price can work out about the same once the retouch is added, so it's always worth asking for the full price before you book.
What you get for £400
A free consultation, where we plan your shape and colour together
A patch test, at least 48 hours before your treatment
Your first microblading appointment (about 1 hour 45 minutes)
Your retouch, 4–12 weeks later
All my aftercare advice, so your brows heal beautifully
It's the same price whether you choose microblading, combo, nano or powder brows.
Keeping them fresh. Like all semi-permanent makeup, microblading softens gently over time. Lots of my clients pop back once a year for a colour boost to keep their brows looking crisp, which is £250. You'll find all my prices on my prices page.
