Anti Wrinkle Injections

What are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?

Anti-wrinkle injections work by temporarily blocking nerve signals to the muscles responsible for creating expression lines. By reducing excessive muscle movement, the skin appears smoother, fine lines soften, and the formation of new wrinkles slows down. With regular treatments, results often become longer lasting and existing lines typically continue to fade.

These injections contain Botulinum toxin Type A, a highly purified, naturally occurring protein that has been extensively researched and safely used in both medical and cosmetic practice for many years. As a prescribing nurse, Nichola is fully qualified to assess, supply, and administer this prescription-only treatment, ensuring you receive the highest standard of clinical expertise and safety. The procedure is minimally invasive, requires little downtime, and is most commonly used to soften lines across the forehead, frown area, and around the eyes.

Nichola is also trained in advanced anti-wrinkle techniques, allowing her to safely treat a wide range of aesthetic concerns, including: gummy smile; dimpled chin; neck lines; downturned mouth corners; facial slimming (jawline reduction); barcode lip lines; and excess underarm sweating.

Treatment areas include: forehead creases, frown lines, crow’s feet, gummy smile, barcode lip lines, bunny lines (nose), pebble chin, downturned corners of the mouth, neck lines, jaw slimming (lasting 4–6 months), and excess underarm sweating (lasting 4–6 months).

Anti-Wrinkle Injection process:

Consultation

During your consultation, Nichola will discuss your concerns, assess your muscle movement, and recommend an individualised treatment plan. She will provide honest, professional advice about suitability and what results you can expect.

Appointment

Anti-wrinkle injections are delivered using a series of small, precise injections with an ultra-fine needle to minimise discomfort and limit the risk of bruising.
You may experience slight redness or small raised bumps immediately after treatment, but these usually settle within 30 minutes.

Results begin to develop from around 72 hours, with full effects visible at two weeks.

Follow UP Appointment

A complimentary follow-up appointment is offered two weeks after treatment.

At this review, Nichola will assess how the product has settled, evaluate your muscle response, and confirm that your desired results have been achieved.

If needed, small adjustments can be made at this stage to ensure optimal, balanced results.

Anti-Wrinkle Injection aftercare tips…

  • Keep the treated area clean and avoid touching, rubbing, or applying makeup for the first 12 hours to reduce irritation and the risk of infection.

  • Saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga, and vigorous exercise should be avoided for 24–48 hours as heat can increase swelling and affect the settling of the product.

  • Keeping hydrated supports skin health and helps maintain long-lasting, natural-looking results.

  • Alcohol can increase bruising and impair healing, so it is best avoided for 24 hours on either side of your appointment.

  • Avoid facial massages, facials, or skin treatments for at least one week to prevent interference with the product’s placement.

Anti-Wrinkle Injection Frequently Asked Questions…

  • Anti-wrinkle injections use Botulinum toxin Type A to temporarily relax specific facial muscles. This softens existing lines, smooths the skin, and helps prevent deeper wrinkles from forming.

  • Most people experience a predictable timeline for Botox results:

    • Week 1:

You’ll start to see your Botox results develop. Full effects typically become visible by day 7–14.

    • Weeks 2–8 (Peak Results):

This is when Botox works at its best. The treated muscles remain relaxed, and lines look smoother with minimal movement.

    • Weeks 8–12 (Gradual Fading):

Movement begins to slowly return as the treatment wears off.

    • Around 12 Weeks (Return of Full Movement):

For the average person, Botox wears off completely at about 3 months, and untreated muscle movement is usually restored.

  • Results typically last 3–6 months, depending on individual muscle strength, lifestyle, and metabolism. Some people experience longer-lasting effects with regular maintenance treatments.
